Recipe Ingredients
  • Semolina 1/2 kg
  • Sugar 1/2 kg
  • Desiccated Coconut 1 cup
  • Water 1 cup
  • Big Cardamom(grind the seeds) 3
  • Banaspati ghee 1/2 cup
Garnish:
  • Almond Silvers
  • Pistachio Silvers
Recipe Method
  1. In a pot, mix sugar with water and cook on medium heat for 10-12 minutes to make a thick syrup.
  2. In a wok, heat 1/4 cup Banaspati ghee on medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add semolina and stir well on low heat until fragrant.
  4. Stir the semolina on a slightly high heat.
  5. While string, add coconut, sugar syrup, ground cardamom seeds and the remaining Banaspati ghee.
  6. Stir vigorously for a few more minutes and remove from heat Brush 1-2 tablespoons of Banaspati on a tray and dish out the semolina.
  7. Cool, cut into pieces, garnish and serve.
  8. Tip: To check if the sugar syrup is ready, place a drop in between your thumb and finger. If it feels sticky, it is ready.
